Valentine’s Day is a classic holiday that celebrates love and intimacy. This holiday is an absolute necessity in today’s busy world. We all are often so busy with work, school or other pursuits that we can sometimes forget to love those around us. However, I don’t believe this love should be limited to just those that are significant others
You can express love toward your friends, professors and even enemies. I view Valentine’s Day as being a day where one should spread love to all, even those they once hated. Valentine’s Day is the perfect day for trying to fix broken relationships, further current relationships, or just show that you care. However, this day does have an overwhelming value for significant others.
The holiday Valentine’s Day is based around love and, not surprisingly, this love is often about significant others. I think it is extremely important to show that lovers are really cared for as they often put a lot of effort into relationships and deserve some sort of recognition. However, this doesn’t mean you have to go to the ends of the Earth to get the perfect gift, as even something small could work.
Expressing one’s love to those around them can be tricky as there can be pressure to get them something nice and expensive. I do not think a gift has to be expensive or elaborate as even something as simple as some flowers can do the job. Even then, taking the time to tell someone you love and appreciate them can be a wonderful gift.
With all of this in mind, it’s clear that I view Valentine’s Day as being a vital piece of our world. The giving of simple gifts like flowers can show how deeply someone appreciates you. This is a day for celebrating and spreading love to all, regardless of who they may be.
