The long awaited Embassy Suites hotel is officially open on the A-State campus as of March 5. A large crowd of hotel workers, students, city council members, and university representatives attended the ribbon cutting and grand opening celebration held in the Arvest Ballroom. The event highlighted many local celebrities such as Gov. Asa Hutchinson, Cory Jackson, and Marybeth Byrd.

With the addition of the hotel, the Hospitality degree plan has also been added and has become a popular major among the A-State students. For example, Austin Kelso, a freshman from Jonesboro has decided to study Culinary and Hospitality. A selection of corses will be located in the hotel itself and students will be able to work at the hotel as well as work towards a degree.

The hotel features meeting rooms, a large ballroom, and several places for seating, a gift shop, as well as a bar and the Houlihan’s restaurant.

Chefs from Houlihan’s provided refreshments for the grand opening to showcase the variety in menu and promote the restaurant.
