The recent tornado that tore apart businesses, cars, and homes has left many asking when Jonesboro will be able to rebuild after the destruction. Since late Saturday night, first responders have been clearing the debris and working on the structures of the buildings that were harmed. “Jonesboro is a unique town, it’s got a lot of heart”, Burt Barrett, a worker with Mark Waste clearing said, “I bet that you’re going to see a big difference, come in the summer in Jonesboro in the way this community is going to gather together and get things done.”

Barrett, along with other workers, are replacing canisters to “help everybody get cleaned up and move forward in this so we can start rebuilding.” First responders, EMS workers, and construction workers have been clearing the debris, rebuilding the structures, and restoring power lines on average of 12 hours a day since late Saturday night. Barnett says, “we’re probably looking at at least three weeks before it’s probably all complete, but right now it’s kind of a wait and hold pattern…”
