A-State redshirt junior quarterback Logan Bonner announced Monday in a tweet that he would be entering the transfer portal and leaving Jonesboro.
Bonner and redshirt sophomore quarterback Layne Hatcher shared time on the field this season in a two quarterback system for the Red Wolves. Bonner and Hatcher rotated each drive under center for A-State.
Bonner went 156-262 on passing attempts this season with six interceptions and 18 touchdowns. The Texas native threw for 1,863 yards this year.
“This is a hard decision for me to make but I have made the decision to leave Arkansas State University and enter the transfer portal as a grad transfer with two years left of eligibility,” Bonner said in a tweet. “Thank you to the city of Jonesboro and to ASU for having me the last 4 years. My brothers and coaches know how I feel about them. Thank you for everything. Wolves up.”
A-State football hosts Incarnate Word Dec. 12 in the Red Wolves’ final game of the season. A-State holds a 4-7 overall record and a 2-6 conference record after the Red Wolves’ 48-15 win over Louisiana-Monroe Saturday.
