In the spirit of the Christmas season, the Red Wolves Foundation hosted the 37th annual Lit’l Bita Christmas as a fundraiser for athletic scholarships.
Admissions were $6, with all proceeds helping fund athletic scholarships at A-State. Students with an Arkansas State University ID could get in free on the event’s first day. James DeBerry, associate director of the annual fund and development operations and first time director of this event, said Lit’l Bita Christmas raises $70,000 to $100,00 toward athletic scholarships.
“It allows us to engage with members of the community who might not be as invested in sports but still allows them to come out and support athletes whether they know it or not,” DeBerry said.
This has been one of the largest arts and crafts shows in Northeast Arkansas, with many vendors selling homemade holiday food, Christmas and winter-themed clothing, holiday crafts and much more.
Santa Claus also made an appearance to take pictures with the kids and learn what they want for Christmas.
“This is a big event that everyone looks forward to,” DeBerry said. “I learned just how big this was to the community once something was posted and the amount of positive feedback from people…and this is big for us because it’s a big fundraiser for athletics.”
