Two students broke school records in Nashville.
Ogbemudia, a junior, threw 20.73m on Friday which broke the previous record by nearly a foot and a half. She placed fifth overall in the women’s shot put.
Glass, a senior, shattered his record by running 7.74 in the men’s 60m hurdles Saturday. His previous record was a time of 7.76. Glass took home the gold beating runner-up sophomore Colby Eddowes ran a personal best of 7.77.
Eddowes also competed in the men’s long jump, in which he placed second with a jump of 7.68m (25-2.5).
Kaci Andrus, a freshman pole vaulter, cleared 3.80m (12-5.5) which is both a personal best and enough to score her a first-place medal. Bradley Jelmert also cleared a first-place spot in pole vault. The senior cleared 5.5m (18-0.5).
Sophomore Rachel Broemmel finished fifth in the women’s final, running 4:47.94, just one minute and 88 seconds behind the first-place finisher.
In the women’s distance medley relay, A team Cheyenne Melvin (junior), Emma Guadagnoli (freshman), Abbey Coberly (freshman) and Elizabeth Winkler (freshman) ran 12:18.95 placing third.
Arkansas State University Track and Field will travel to Louisville Kentucky to compete in the Lenny Lyles Invitational on Friday.
