First responders arrived at the Acansa Dining Hall after a call from a member of the Sodexo staff alerting them to a medical emergency.
Emerson Emergency Medical Services and Jonesboro Police Officers found the victim having trouble breathing, before losing consciousness for a period of time.
Another ambulance was called and the victim regained consciousness prior to its arrival. He said he suffers from panic attacks along with other medical conditions.
He was transported to St. Bernards hospital by EMS at his request.
April 17 | 12:18 p.m.
Corporal Jacob Foster responded to dispatch to assist with filing a report regarding stolen identity.
Upon arrival, he met with the victim and an associated person who was helping to translate. They said the victim received a Facetime call between 5 p.m. and 5:37 p.m. April 15.
They said she received the call and was told to show her passport, which she did, and then was told to pay money.
At this time, she realized it was a scam caller and hung up.
Foster informed her to call whoever she got issued the passport from in China and let them know about the situation to see if they can get her a new passport and flag her old one.
April 17 | 10:30 a.m.
Officer Robert Kary was parked in the Arkansas Biosciences Institute parking lot watching traffic when he observed a suspect who he was dispatched to provide a vehicle unlock service April 15.
The suspect said she did not have a driver’s license, but was not driving the car. The unlock was canceled because of refusal to complete paperwork.
Later that day the suspect could be seen on camera getting into the car and driving away
without a drivers license.
On April 17, the suspect was driving Northbound on Driver Street. The tag came back having unconfirmed insurance and a traffic stop was initiated on the vehicle.
Upon approaching the vehicle, Kary identified himself and gave the reason for the stop: no drivers license and unconfirmed insurance.
The suspect later provided insurance info and was run through the system and it was discovered that she had a misdemeanor warrant out of Jonesboro for driving on suspended license.
