Arkansas State University hosted the second annual track and field Alumni Classic Friday and Saturday, taking home 19 total event victories over the two days. A-State secured 10 wins on Friday and nine Saturday.
To start off Friday’s events, Michelle Ogbemudia placed first in the women with 55.81 meters. Noa Isaia quickly followed suit, placing first in men’s hammer throw with a third best A-State throw of 66.22 meters.
In the men’s 1500 meters invitational, Jacob Pyeatt clocked a 3:45.80, winning the event and placing fifth in program history. Camren Bailey tied the eighth best in A-State’s 200 meters for men and won with 20.97.

Four Red Wolves placed within the top five of the men’s pole vault, Bradley Jelmert cleared 5.46 meters to take first in the event. In the men’s long jump, Matthew Williams leaped 7.16 meters to claim the top spot.
Five Red Wolves held the top five spots in the women’s long jump. Kiara Strayhorn won the event, leaping 5.58 meters, followed by Madison Holloway and her season best jump of 5.72.
Izzy Daines placed first in the women’s javelin throw with a season best toss of 43.50 meters on her sixth attempt.
Jada Buggs ran 24.87 and won the women’s 200. Lizzee Winkler won the final event of the day in the steeplechase.

The rest of the team’s wins came on Saturday, starting with Menachem Chen winning both men’s shot put and discus. He moved to sixth in program history after throwing 18.11 meters in the shot put and then threw 55.70 meters in discus.
In the women’s shot put, Ogbemudia threw 16.16 meters for the event win.
Tyra Nabors ran a 13.61 time in the 100-meter hurdles for fifth in school history. Colby Eddowes recorded 13.71 in the 100-meter hurdles.
Zeke McCain ran for a personal best 15:27.86 in the men’s 5000 meters, taking the event for the Red Wolves.
Three of four of the Red Wolves clocked personal bests in the women’s 400 meters. Buggs won the event with a personal best of 55.24.
Reneisha Andrews sprinted a season best of 11.84 in the women’s 100 meters. In the women’s pole vault, Carly Pujol cleared the beam with 4.06 meters, winning the event.
The Red Wolves return to the track for the Sun Belt Conference Outdoor Championships Thursday, May 8 in Harrisonburg, Virginia.
