Addison Rae might win a Grammy and it’s deserved

With TikToker turned pop-star Addison Rae recently being nominated for a Grammy, it felt like the right time to finally listen to her debut album, “Addison,” and see what all the hype was about.

By normal expectations, this album should not have been good.

Most influencers who venture into the music world do so to create another revenue stream. The goal of creating good music is not of much concern.

Rae is not most influencers.

She delivers a true pop-album-of-the-year contender over a tight 33 minutes that left me wondering just how she managed to pull it off.

Produced by Rae alongside two female collaborators, Elvira Anderfjärd and Luka Kloser, the album covers topics of happiness, love and life in the spotlight.

Bringing a sound all her own, Rae creates a dreamy atmosphere that overshadows any surface-level lyricism.

This record is sensual and euphoric, giving off the feeling that all involved had the time of their lives making it.

The hooks are catchy, the production is ear candy, Rae holds her own as a vocalist and would look more out of place alongside influencers at Saddle Ranch than on stage at the VMA’s.

The Charli xcx influence is noticeable all over this record and for fans of the British icon, there is so much to love with this album.

If you’ve never heard this record or only caught one of the singles, I implore you to give the full album a listen.

Addison Rae may be new to the pop world, but it’s a guarantee that she is here to stay.

She might just be leaving the Grammy’s with a little gold statue too.
