Kudos to the Herald on its investigative reporting on Jonesboro and AState, in Craighead County (key). The opening article touches on a number of issues that provide insights of what makes Us unique, including Razorbacks and “the wettest dry county in Arkansas.” Frankly, it’s a topic fit for a multi-media series by the entire department.
As a long-time reader of print copy (at the NYIT Clinic), this digital access will help me follow this topic of interest since I was an undergrad in the early 1980s.
Title: “The Drought of 1944: Craighead County Goes Dry.”
Author: H. L. Weinstock.
Published: 1984, Craighead County Historical Quarterly, Vol. 22, No. 4, pp. 4-7.
There’s a documentary in the ASU archives, circa 1996, based on the article.
Surely, this series will bolster the decision by ASU to keep the important degree program it had cancelled.

If I can help, holler.
