A-State and Troy battled back and forth as the home team brought the game within two points at 59-57, then again within two points at 65-63. Arkansas State tried to erase an eight point 1st quarter deficit in the 2nd period and brought the early quarter score to 33-33 after a Jireh Washington layup and free throw. Troy forced the Red Wolves into eight turnovers in the 2nd quarter as they turned on their full court press. Morgan Wallace grabbed a team high five first half rounds despite missing part of the 2nd quarter with an apparent injury. Peyton Martin scored nine first half points but Troy was efficient with their scoring, totaling 53 first half points to A-State’s 42.

Troy flexed their offensive power in the first quarter out scoring the Red Wolves 26-18. While the home team could not find a rhythm on the offensive side of the ball, the Trojans shot 75 percent from behind the arc making six three-point baskets.

The Red Wolves are back in action Thursday, Feb.14 at Texas State. Tip off is set for 7 p.m.
