In a Facebook post about his birthday, Chancellor Damphousse requested donations for the Student Emergency Fund. This fund was created to help students in need of assistance.
Though it was in existence prior to current events, Damphousse has currently suspended all other fundraising efforts. His post is pictured below, with a transcript following.

“Dear friends.
It’s my birthday today and I am grateful for the incredible blessings that I have received over these past 57 years. My life is richer because of all the people who have passed through my life. So, I’m not accepting any gifts for myself this year, but I would ask my 5,000 FB friends to consider something.
Because of all that is going on in the world today, I have asked our development team to temporarily suspend fundraising efforts at A-State.
But we are still quietly raising money for one important purpose – the Student Emergency Fund. The fund was created by the A-State Student Philanthropy Council to provide temporary financial assistance for their fellow Red Wolves who are in need. We are about $5,000 short of our goal and our students have never needed the help more.
Please consider helping our students help each other. Every contribution of $20 or more will receive a Back the Pack Comfort Color shirt. Thanks for joining SPC in making sure that “Every Red Wolf Counts.” #Discover philanthropy.
❤️🐺🆙”
