The Student Activities Board will host Fire Fest, taking place on the Heritage Plaza Lawn April 29, the last day of classes for A-State students. Fire Fest will be featuring fire eaters, breathers, and dancers from Arkansas Circus Arts.
Fire Fest will begin at 8 p.m. and last until 11 p.m. The performers from Arkansas Circus Arts are professionally trained and known for putting on interactive solo and group acts. Attendance is free of charge for Arkansas State students, faculty, and staff.
The event will offer access to H2Q BBQ and Big A’s BBQ food truck, Southern Confections, Timmon’s Coffee, and Kona Ice. Emily Mitchell, director of campus traditions, is in charge of the coordination of Fire Fest that advances SAB’s mission of creating an environment that enhances recreational development.
“Fire Fest will be the culmination of a challenging yet successful year. Even though we can’t have the usual spring concert, Fire Fest will be fun and engaging for the whole student body,” said Mitchell.
DJ King Vick will also be at the event playing music.
“Fire Fest is a completely new idea that SAB has had the opportunity to put into motion this semester. This event will have food, entertainment, music, and more,” said SAB President Rachel Gage.
