The Red Wolves soccer team fell 1-0 to the Lousiana-Monroe Warhawks at home after a hard fought defensive struggle.

A-State entered the game with a 2-1-4 record after recording a tie in their first conference matchup against the Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns. ULM on the other hand has had an excellent season so far, entering the game with a 6-2-1 record and had just defeated Marshall 3-2.

A defensive struggle ensued and only five shots were taken in the entire first half. In the second half, Warhawks forward Skylar Blaise scored the games only goal in the 65th minute. Defender Riley Whisenhunt took a shot on goal late in the game, but it missed the mark and the Red Wolves fell to the Warhawks 1-0.

With the win the Warhawks improve to second place in the Sun Belt Conference and a record of 7-2-1. They are also currently undefeated in conference play. With the loss the Red Wolves fall to 2-2-4, and are still searching for their first conference win of the season.
