Delight Ministries, a women-led, Christ-focused community will officially debut this month.  

Delight focuses on giving women on college campuses across the nation a sisterhood of Christians to fellowship and build accountability with, and the organization will have its Arkansas State University chapter kickoff on Thursday, Sept. 3.

Ariana Olguin, team director and junior criminology major from North Little Rock, said Delight will focus on intentionality and bringing more women to Christ. 

“We want to give people a sisterhood and a place to talk about uncomfortable conversations, where you can surround yourself with women the same age or around the same age as you,” Olguin said. 

Delight Ministries is founded on five core values: being invitational, fostering community, having effective innovation, equipping and discipling, and being spirit-led. 

The official Delight website describes the chapters as aiming “to provide a space on college campuses for women to vulnerably share how Christ has been at work in their lives. 

Delight’s kickoff will be held at 7:30 p.m. in the Spring River Room of the Reng Student Union. Attendees can expect a night of getting to know Delight Ministries and its team. 

Tiyah Green, social media manager and junior nursing major from North Little Rock, said that the kickoff will be a time to get to know what Delight really is. 

“You can get to know us personally and ask us all the questions that you have. It’s going to be an informational about Delight, our core values and our intentions. We’ll all just get to know each other,” Green said.

According to Olguin and Green, a typical Delight “Chapter Night” will follow very similar setups. The meetings will be a time of fellowship, worship, and teaching led by a different Delight leader each Thursday night. 

The weekly curriculum will follow “Made In,” a Bible study book based on women in the Bible that pairs with real-life testimonials from college-aged women. 

Women who attend can also participate in “Delight Dates,” where randomly assigned pairs will plan to grab lunch together and build friendships. The club will also host community service and outreach events. 

Green said an important aspect of Delight is supporting girls in their walks with Christ. 

“We’re wanting girls to come away with the idea that even though you are walking with Him, you’re not walking alone,” Green said.
